Injury Care - Occupational injuries are stressful for the patient, the employer and everyone involved. It is our priority to ensure quality care is rendered to the patient. MBI’s approach to managed care and case management assures appropriate and cost effective treatment. Our philosophy reduces lost work time while positively influencing productivity. We accept all workers compensation insurers.
Injury Prevention - Our medical staff is available for onsite consultations. These consults assess working environments to increase safety and address any other environmental concerns. Our doctors and physical therapists find these assessments not only allow their use of ergonomic knowledge to assist development of better working environments, but also help with understanding specific job functions. This knowledge allows doctors to more accurately document work restrictions when needed, and may help to determine the mechanism of injury. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is a great resource offering on-site consultations to assist employers develop safer work environments.
After-Hours Triage Care - Dial our regular business number after normal business hours to reach our on-call medical assistant. The medical assistant will determine if a physician is needed, if so the physician on-call will contact the injured employee and/or their manager. The physician listens to the problem and advises of the necessary medical treatment. The physician may deem the injury not in need of immediate medical attention and schedule an appointment for the morning. This service saves companies costly emergency room expense while ensuring employees receive necessary medical care. MBI also offers 24-hour drug and breath alcohol testing services. Our on-call medical assistants will meet employees and their supervisors at MBI to administer drug screens and/or breath alcohol testing.
Physicals - We offer the complete spectrum of employment physicals. These include; pre-employment, Department of Transportation (DOT), Return-to-Work, Physical Abilities Testing, HAZMAT, Asbestos, Respiratory, Disability Evaluations, Immigration, Independent Medical Exams (IME) and Fitness for Duty physicals. Our Physicians and staff are experts in screening, analyzing, and documenting requirements for all the various physicals. If you are looking to create a customized physical, we do that too. Drug Testing - MBI has provided drug screening services since our beginning in 1982. All drug screens are handled in strict accordance with 49 CFR Part 40 Requirements. Drug screens include; regulated, non regulated, instant drug screens, random, post accident, and pre-employment. When utilizing our lab we have the ability to customize tested drug groups to suit client requirements.
Instant Drug Testing - Allows for negative results within minutes and the faster turnaround helps to speed the hiring process. Our instant drug screens are normally sold as 5 and 9 panels. "Panels" refer to the number of drug groups being tested. The five panel includes: Amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP), and THC (marijuana). The nine panel includes: Amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, phencyclidine, propoxyphene, and THC (marijuana).
DOT Drug Testing - New guidelines affected in October of 2010 changed the quantity and types of drugs screened for in the Department of Transportation drug screen. This increased the required amount of drug types tested to seven. The new screen now tests for the following types: Amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP), THC (marijuana), ecstasy, and acetomorphine.
Medical Review Officer Services (MRO) - Utilizing MRO services provides you with security in knowing drug screen results when reported as positive or negative have been scrutinized fully. When our MROs report results to our clients, our clients can be confident with their findings. Our Medical Review Officers are available to provide services during their normal working hours. MRO services are optional for NON-DOT drug testing.
Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure - Appropriate evaluation of potential blood borne pathogen exposures, i.e. needle sticks, human bites, contamination with blood or other potentially infectious body fluids are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1910.1030.
Breath Alcohol Testing - All personnel performing Breath Alcohol Testing are trained and tested on the provisions of Department of Transportation 49 CFR PART 40. These tests are available for non-dot purposes also.
Vaccinations & Titers - MBI offers the full spectrum of vaccinations employers may require. Some of the more utilized vaccines include: Flu, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, MMR, Rabies, and Tetanus. Some of the more utilized Titers include: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, MMR, Mumps, and Rabies.
X-Ray - All of our facilities are equipped with onsite x-ray capabilities. This service assists our Doctors with evaluating trauma efficiently. Our Physicians need the ability to view as much information as possible when diagnosing patients. Immediate access to this information helps to provide the most beneficial care. Our x-ray technologists are highly trained and experienced professionals who are keenly aware of radiation safety standards.
Tuberculosis Skin Testing (PPD) - TB skin testing is initially a two-part process. The Patient fills out the questionnaire and receives an injection in the epidermis of the inner forearm. The injection is 0.1 ml of Purified Protein Derivative containing 5 tuberculin units. The patient is then told to come back for a reading of the site between 48 to 72 hours after injection. At that point based on the reaction at the site, different procedures may be necessary.
